Abi went off to university to study music but found herself struggling; she dropped out, and started a different course at Coleg Gwent. While there she was pointed in the direction of Tafflab, and was selected to be part of the 2018 cohort.
Abi established her business, the Welsh Luxury Hamper Company, with Tafflab’s support. She was assigned an “amazing mentor” in John Middleton; Abi says Tafflab has made setting up and running a business so much easier. The business took off in October 2019 and Abi is a Finalist in Wales’ Young Entrepreneur of the Year competition.
Abi also says Kathy Seddon, Tafflab’s coordinator and one of its founders, has been “brilliant”. Abi was invited to become a mentor for the 2019 cohort and has generously contributed her time since. Tafflab looks forward to her being a mentor to the 2020 cohort too.
In Abi’s video below, she says she wants to use her story to encourage other young people to become entrepreneurs. She says it’s great to see all the support out there now for young people. Everyone at Tafflab congratulates Abi on her success to date and we’re all pleased that she continues to support us as a mentor.
